Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary research into the study of witness memory as well as child victimes as witness in legal situations. Professor Goodman is the author of numerous research publications as well as numerous grants to her name and is the recipient of a variety of international and national prizes. She has advised many authorities and government agencies around the world about policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims in the justice system. She serves as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of a variety of professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
